Right, as you have probably noticed DTE looks a bit different. We're now running on a fully licensed version of vbulletin 4. Half custom style, a few mods for now. Hopefully everything has ported over ok. There are still a few things that need doing which I'll list below. One issue with the convert was that it didn't want to copy over peoples avatars

IMPORTANT
You will need to do "forgot password" for your account. Due to the way the passwords were stored (encrypted like the should be), they couldn't be straight copied to VBB into a normal password then encrypted again with a per user salt string.
If you fail at getting your password back or you've changed your E-Mail get get on irc and give me a poke and I'll sort it out.

New STUFF:
Can't remember everything That's new from mods n stuff but here is a quick list:

Just a word from the management, letting you know what is going on.

Natural Selection 2 is moving into Alpha the 26th this month, which will also mark the raising of the pre-order price, so now is a good time to grab the basic pre-order at a cheapo $20 (£13). The game is looking really promising so far, and the first game was awesome in its day.

Bloodline Champions is moving along nicely and even though I am mainly the one playing it at the moment, there is still interest by some others, so we get together for games every now and again. Development is slow but steady and things are looking very promising for the future what with Funcom having been secured as a publisher.

EVE has seen another revival, we are planning to do some small scale frigate/covert ops roaming and shoot lazors and missiles at unexpecting people who get in our way. Quite a few of us have dusted off our old accounts and there are some who are starting out fresh as well. If you want a trial account ask one of the subscribed players for a trial invite.

Bad Company 2 is still being played every now and again by mainly drunken DTErs, and we still enjoy it. I guess buying it now means you missed out on all the good times we had, so that makes you a sucker if you didn't get it when everyone else did. *points* Hahah!

Bacon is still tasty.

All testers have been given beta invites now, so if you want to try out BLC let us know and we'll pass an invitation along. Should be plenty enough to go around for any DTE who want to try it out.

[UPDATE] Ok invitations are based on play time, so I got 3 but mosi got none. Lob might have gotten one but I think that's reserved for Mush. I have 1 left at the moment, so if you want it you best have a good reason! :P

So I have been beta-testing this great fantasy action game this week, and I thought I'd let you all know a bit more about it. For info on the game, check out my earlier topic or the offical site.

Hello! Time for another update!

NeoTokyo hasn't completely managed to die on us, we entered the community tournament called Nine Sisters. Unfortunately due to scheduling we only managed to field 5 out of the 6 required players. The participants fought bravely and died.. a lot. From what I hear we could have easily have done well if we had our 6th. Personally I was not able to play because of issues with steam after the L4D2 preload broke it, which just makes me rage like a butterfly! If there is a second league, which there may very well be, we will most likely enter again.

At least we got this from Alone, one of the people arranging the tourney:
"And we apologize to DTE once again. The team that participated the most in Nine Sisters got shafted terribly because of the schedule change. Unfair is an understatement here =P"

Further, L4D2 has been released and several DTE have it, we have had quite a few games. It is good in many ways, and there are only a few things that I see as a step in the wrong direction from L4D. The biggest issue seems to be stability, which has been lacking somewhat. Several games have been cut short due to crashes and bugs, a frustration to be sure.

Soldat, the good old multiplay side-shooter is seeing another DTE revival. Get your soldat at http://www.soldat.pl. I am hoping to put up a mini-tourney in it again at the start of next year, so make sure you know how to aim that M79! More on this later, I will make sure I can host a stable server for the players etc before I start the ball rolling.

Our lvl 99 tech wizard mosimo has set up these fine forums for us after some... trouble.. with the last ones. They are looking pretty as ever! Thanks mos!

Otherwise, things go on as per usual, some of us have been enthralled by Dragon Age, others stay with their addictions of WoW, AoC and other such weird fetishes! As always, remember to drop by IRC and chat a bit when you have the time! DTE is nothing without its members!

Been a while since we had an update, so time for another.


Past Few Months
First off, DTE has dropped out of Neotokyo and we no longer play it. The game hasn't been patched since release back at the beginning of July. It has some serious bugs, design flaws and griefing issues and the community is dwindling. There was an attempt to get some clan games going but most of NT's dedicated clans have already died out and there are few pub servers left. So ends the long and eventful saga of Neotokyo.

We did, however, get a new member from NT's community. Everyone welcome Basic to the clan with as much ductape as is appropriate


What We're Playing
We're playing Left 4 Dead again and we've dug up Defcon. We're playing these games every night so things are active at the moment and there's a fair bit of gaming going on.
Love has just entered alpha testing. Currently its not playable but the playable test will be starting very soon and we'll definitely be trying it out.
Me, SpuD and Vel are also still playing EVE. Nothing new here, though the next expansion is set for Winter time.


The hunt for Plan continues in vain and those who've contracted WoW have shown no signs of returning to normal life. We're still all residing in #dte on gamesurge, and that's all that's new.
